Regatta (from Italian. Regata, from riga- row, line) is a term used to describe either a boat race, or series of boat races. Although the term typically describes racing events of unpowered water craft, some powerboat race series are also called regattas. Most commonly, a regatta is either a series of rowing, sailing, gondola races or yacht racing. Regattas 2010 in Greece

Aegean Regatta
Aegean regatta does not need recommendation. Organized every year by the Ministry of Aegean sea and Rhodes yacht club, this is not only sailing regatta, but also cultural event and excellent possibility for the entertainment. Every year is selected new route among thousands of most beautiful islands of Aegean sea. As emphasize organizers, the main purpose of regatta is to introduce yachtsmen to the remote Greek islands, to contribute to the development of yachting and tourism in the places, where the protogenic culture of Greece was preserved. On the shore, after each day of competitions, parties and excursions await yachtsmen. Aegean regatta 2010, which in this year celebrate its 10- anniversary, will take place in the northern part of the Aegean sea from August 21 to August 28, 2010. Regatta starts from Limnos island, with stops on Tasos and Samofraki islands, and finishes on the island Lesbos. The interesting cultural events, timed to the 10- anniversary of the organization of Aegean regatta, will be organized on these islands.

RODOS CUP
Yachting Club of Rhodes is organizing 13 years an international sailing week titled: "RODOS CUP" in the paradise Dodecanese islands. The aim of the event is to promote Offshore Sailing by uniting as many sailors as possible, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the wind, sea and sun of the Greek islands during the best period of the year. Setting sail from the island of Hippocrates Kos we will visit the islands Tilos, Symi and sun island of Rhodes. The possibility to participate with chartered boats and our great offers, due to the efforts made by our club, constitute an invitation and at the same time a challenge for sailing holidays in the Dodecanese. Blue Cup Regatta
The first competition was in 1990, and only a small number of French Beneteau yachts participated. Since then, its popularity has increased year by year. In November 2000, 40 crews joined the race. There were several more who wanted to participate, but unfortunately a larger number cannot be accepted due to the nature of the race and the small Greek ports we visit at the end of every day. In general, this is very interesting event with parties, dances and visiting such places as: Aigina Island, Epidaurus, Poros Island, Hydra Island, and Porto Heli.
Blue Cup Regatta takes place annually during the first week of November in Greece, in Argosaronic Bay.
